You can use a pot or a pan for this recipe. Since I have so much butter to cook, I'll be using a pot.I have one of those little thermometers which is great for telling whether or not the liquid has reached the right temperature for this recipe!Although it's not necessary to use one of these little gadgets, it does make things easier if you want to turn out perfectly cooked green beans every time. One stick of butter is enough for about 1 pound of fresh green beans. I'll add the second stick when the first has melted into a gooey mess.I've already washed my green beans and trimmed off their ends.
